About Us

Arenas Del Mar is a venture developed with the idea of building a luxurious beach resort and sustainable hotel based on the experiences and knowledge acquired from more than 50 years of combined experience in tourism. The principal directors and administrators are:

Glenn Jampol

President of the Board of Directors
Mr. Jampol is a well known consultant in sustainable tourism and is presently the owner operator of Finca Rosa Blanca, a highly awarded hotel for its role in sustainability and the winner of many prestigious awards from magazines and organizations for being one of the most beautiful hotels in the world. Mr. Jampol currently is a member of the board of directors of The International Ecotourism Society (TIES), is currently President of the Costa Rican Chamber of Ecotourism (CANAECO) and a member of the National Accreditation Commission of the CST in Costa Rica.

Carlos Roesch

Member, Board of Directorsand Supervising Administrator
Mr. Roesch was the Minister of Tourism for Costa Rica from and has more than 30 years experience as the administrator of hotels, such as the Cariari, Herradura and Ocotal Resorts. He is currently a member of the EARTH council. It was in his tenure as Minister of Tourism that Costa Rica created the Certification for Sustainable Tourism (CST).

Francisco Rojas, MBA

Architect and Project Manager
Mr. Rojas is a well known and respected architect and project manager in Costa Rica who has 20 years experience in the design of successful hotels, such as Finca Rosa Blanca Country Inn, Tulemar Bungalows, Byblos Hotel, and is the principal and consultant for Spectrum, a company developed to advise municipalities on how to manage and develop their growth in a sustainable and harmonious manner. Mr. Rojas is also an expert in the design of sustainable hotels.

Hans Pfister and Andrea Bonilla

Co–Owners of Cayuga Sustainable Hospitality
Mr. Pfister and Ms. Bonilla, both graduates of the prestigious Cornell University Hospitality School, have many years of experience and success with high quality sustainable hotels in Costa Rica and Nicaragua. Currently they are the administrators and managers of Lapa Rios Ecolodge in the Osa Peninsula, Harmony Hotel in Nosara, Latitude 10 Resort in Santa Teresa Beach and Jicaro Island Ecolodge in the Isletas of Granada, Nicaguara.

Paul Lesniak

Board Member and Parent Company General Manager Mr. Lesniak is a successful business owner in Costa Rica and the United States and has many years experience operations. He also is dedicated to complete sustainable practices in the hospitality industry and has a vast knowledge of the unique financial challenges faced by a high level sustainable luxury hotel
