Arenas Del Mar features two gourmet restaurants famous for their use of seasonal ingredients and local foods featuring Costa Rican Cuisine with an international flavor.

El Mirador

The more formal restaurant El Mirador hangs over the Espadilla Beach with its white sand beaches and the sparkling Pacific Ocean and overlooks the spectacular Manuel Antonio National Park. Gorgeous sunsets can be enjoyed along with fantastic fresh lobster, squid, sea bass, and other delicacies at this authentic Costa Rican fusion restaurant.

Breakfast

Whenever you chose to enjoy your breakfast you can look forward to fresh fruits with home - made granola and a bakery basket brimming with a freshly baked display of assorted muffins and breads. The menu includes eggs cooked to your liking along with other tempting dishes including: corn chorreadas, Costa Rican savory corn pancakes served with sour cream, vegetable or chicken tamales made from corn and filled with sauted vegetables or chicken and served on plantain leaves, gallo pinto (rice and beans), a typical Costa Rican breakfast including homemade corn tortillas and Tico farmers cheese, satisfying your hunger as you enjoy the sounds of the rainforest and the waves below.

Lunch

The restaurant offers a completely new lunch experience: you can partake in authentic Costa Rican family style meals, a host of natural drinks made from fresh fruit. Enjoy the famous casado (literally means married) which offers fish or chicken, rice and beans, served with homemade tortillas, fried plantain and a picadillo (a chopped native vegetable dish with spices) and mangospacho, a chilled delight of diced mango, papaya, jalapeño, cucumber, avocado, cilantro, lime & tomato. Each day our pastry chef will surprise you with his selection of pastries, pies, rice pudding, caramel flan and tropical tortes of your choice.

Dinner

At Dinner we will offer you a fascinating menu with the most representative dishes of regional cuisine infused with flavors and techniques from Costa Rica. Our chef’s philosophy is simplicity with a twist, using authentic Costa Rican recipes and local ingredients in an extensive collection of delicious and innovate dishes. Our most popular signature dishes include our lobster & shrimp salad served with tostones fritos (fried green plantain), jerk chicken filled with spinach, plantain and bacon served with black eye peas and julienne root vegetables, herb-crusted mero (grouper) with a pineapple cilantro relish served with farm fresh vegetables and the famous Caribbean rice and beans. We also offer an excellent range of vegetarian options whether you choose from seasonal roasted vegetables or curried spinach and ñame casserole. And if you have room for dessert, then you should try Teri’s favorite flourless chocolate cake.

Playitas Snack Bar

Surrounded by beauty and diversity; nature, the sand and the sea. Located next to Arenas del Mar’s secluded white sand beach, Playitas, our guests will choose their favorite drink or cocktail of the day and enjoy the sound of the waves and the sea breezes. We offer light but elegant foods such as chipotle lime and bacon- grilled shrimp wrap in spinach-herb tortilla, fresh salsa with green plantains chips, sweet potatoes and yucca chips, quesadillas, roasted vegetables and sandwiches. We also serve freshly baked pastries with wonderful Costa Rican flavors such as lemon coconut bars, cashew cookies, pineapple, mango and papaya squares. You will able to dine and drink steps away from one of the world’s most spectacular beaches, surrounded by rain forests with white faced monkeys chattering, Howler monkeys bellowing and above, and sloths lazing in the trees.
