Arenas Del Mar is located on the Central Pacific Coast of Costa Rica about 2 kilometers (less than a mile) from the port of Quepos, in Manuel Antonio. Most visitors to Costa Rica arrive in San José which is located about 3 hours by car or a short 20 minute flight from Quepos. Both Sansa and Nature Air offer many flights during daylight hours to and from Quepos. Some guests also fly in from abroad to Liberia from where it is a 5 hour drive or two short domestic flights of about 45 and 20 minutes each.

Driving to Manuel Antonio

  1. From the International Airport head towards San Jose, take the highway and turn right at the road that borders the airport to the south. This road dead-ends at a restaurant bar.
  2. Turn left and drive that road into Belen where you will get to Panasonic.
  3. Turn left at Panasonic and take the Lindora Highway to the Caldera route.
  4. Drive on the Caldera route and exit off towards the beach town of Jacó.
  5. Cross the Tarcoles river bridge and continue to Jacó and then down the Pacific coast to Quepos.
  6. From Quepos, follow the signs to Manuel Antonio and later the signs to Arenas Del Mar Beachfront & Rainforest Resort.

Domestic Flights

The easiest and fastest way to get to Arenas Del Mar is with a domestic flight. There are two options for regularly scheduled local flights: Nature Air or Sansa.

Domestic flights arrive at the small airport of Quepos, just a short 15 minute drive to Manuel Antonio and Arenas Del Mar. Please note that all domestic flights in Costa Rica are certified as being Carbon Neutral and will compensate all carbon emissions emitted by your flight.
