Best Hospitality Practices
We invest in green technology and always source products in line with our philosophy. Here are just some of the ways we keep our operations efficient and sustainable.
Solar Water Heating
With sunshine aplenty in Manuel Antonio, we’re putting it to good use at the resort
We work hard to keep our carbon emissions as low as possible. One way we do that is by using solar energy generated at the hotel to heat water for our guest and staff rooms.
Organic Cleaning Products
Surrounded by 11 acres of nature reserve, we like to keep things… natural!
Warning! Flammable! Toxic! With labels like these on many conventional cleaning products, going 100% organic was a no-brainer for us. The fully biodegradable products we use don’t contain hazardous chemicals so they won’t adversely affect our ecosystems.
Irrigating 11-acres of lush forest takes a lot of water, but we’ve got a smart solution
For many months of the year our Rainforest becomes bone dry and needs to be watered. To ease the demand on fresh water, we put our wastewater to good use by purifying it onsite. We make it completely suitable for irrigating our gardens.
What makes our food feel-good? Hint: it’s not just the delicious flavors
We think food tastes better when it’s ethical and hasn’t been shipped from a faraway land.

Sustainability in Action
“The Sustainability Manager gave us an amazing tour of the property and insights into what “sustainability” means for Arenas del Mar – everything from a pool-cleaning system that doesn’t use chlorine so birds can drink from it, to addressing the needs of local communities. Most of this had been invisible to us prior to taking the tour, and it made us appreciate our stay much more!”
